June 15th- Father's Day & Kayla's 1st Birthday

Kayla was really excited and giddy this morning, like she knew it was her birthday.

It fell on the same day this year. How special to remember last year's father's day when she was just 2 days old. We celebrated with Indiana Jones movie tickets and a memory photo album of all the pictures of Kayla and Chad together over the 1st year of Kayla's life.

Lunch at Applebee's with my dad and family
She likes to ham it up nowdays with her sunglasses or her dad's.

Fun on the swings at her birthday party with Dad.

1st Birthday Party in West Monroe

We had a great time at Kiroli Park in West Monroe, LA having Kayla's family 1st birthday party. It was fun to have it at a park. We had a cookout and all the kids could play on the swings. Here are pics of my family.

Chad's Aunt Cathy and Uncle Rusty. They adore Kayla!!
Kayla loves her Ali!!

Once again, Kayla knew what to do with the cake after a little coaxing.

I remembered that I didn't bring extra clothes and needed the bib at this party.
And, she created a masterpiece.

Cute outfit that my Aunt Brit Brit bought her.
She needed to be shown how to open these gifts too. She just wanted to play with them though.
Aunt Brit Brit also got her the coolest gift ever. She got her a baby Cabbage Patch doll that was registered with the name "Kayla Gail". She has red hair and blue eyes too. Chad said not to take it out of the box, but I think she should play with her when she gets of age.
Yeah, she just liked the boxes.

One of her favorite toys is the toy Grandma gave her. Its a Mickey Mouse airplane she can ride on and take blocks in and out of. It also has a cool propeller and buttons to push. She plays with it all the time.

Nan is so fun to play with
Nan and PaPaw got Kayla a Radio Flyer red wagon that has seats and a canopy. The babies had a lot of fun getting pulled around the park in it. Kayla and Tristin rode together in it a lot. Even exchanged pacifiers.

Ist Birthday Party in Northwest AR 6-8-08

We had a blast at Kayla's 1st Birthday Party at our home. A lot of our close friends were there and got to share in this joyous occasion. I almost cried as she was diving into her cake b/c I can't believe she's ONE. Well in a week she will be. It was fun to celebrate her wonderful 1st year with her scrapbook and pictures to share with friends. She was in a good mood the whole time and new that it was her special day. Everyone passed her around trying to get her to walk. She did stand alone for about 1 minute by herself. Showing off for the guests, she's never done this before.

Mrs. Ellen (my second mom) came early to help out with food and be with Kayla. She's watched Kayla grow up this year and it was really special to have her there.

I sort of mixed up the order of the cake eating. I wanted to show it in progression. This is the ending result after much pink icing she looked like a clown.
Especially when a friend put it on her eyebrows.
Yes, even got it in the hair.

I had to let her tast some before she knew what to do with it.
Then she was off!!
The icing was soft and alot of it, so the pink spread really quick.

I finally cut it so that she could get some cake part. She was wondering, "Why is everyone staring at me?"

She liked opening presents. In reality, I opened most of them, but she was excited to tear the wrapping when we prompted her to.
Kayla got a lot of fun learning toys, books, bath toys, bloomers with her initials on the butt, and a cool water fountain, pool toy.

We're waving at the video camera.

We got her a "kangaroo climber". Its like a clubhouse witha slide. She seems to really like it, but can't climb on it yet. I'm sure she will soon. She likes looking at us through the windows.

First time this year with her swimsuit on in her new water toy. She didn't know what to think and the water was rather cold.

Grandma got Kayla a new table and chairs that matches her room perfectly and Daddy set it up today. She seems to like it, but fell out of the chair when mama wasn't looking. She'll learn to climb up and down soon.

Kayla playing with her new marracas. They sing and say the ABC's when she shakes them.
