Ist Birthday Party in Northwest AR 6-8-08

We had a blast at Kayla's 1st Birthday Party at our home. A lot of our close friends were there and got to share in this joyous occasion. I almost cried as she was diving into her cake b/c I can't believe she's ONE. Well in a week she will be. It was fun to celebrate her wonderful 1st year with her scrapbook and pictures to share with friends. She was in a good mood the whole time and new that it was her special day. Everyone passed her around trying to get her to walk. She did stand alone for about 1 minute by herself. Showing off for the guests, she's never done this before.

Mrs. Ellen (my second mom) came early to help out with food and be with Kayla. She's watched Kayla grow up this year and it was really special to have her there.

I sort of mixed up the order of the cake eating. I wanted to show it in progression. This is the ending result after much pink icing she looked like a clown.
Especially when a friend put it on her eyebrows.
Yes, even got it in the hair.

I had to let her tast some before she knew what to do with it.
Then she was off!!
The icing was soft and alot of it, so the pink spread really quick.

I finally cut it so that she could get some cake part. She was wondering, "Why is everyone staring at me?"

She liked opening presents. In reality, I opened most of them, but she was excited to tear the wrapping when we prompted her to.
Kayla got a lot of fun learning toys, books, bath toys, bloomers with her initials on the butt, and a cool water fountain, pool toy.

We're waving at the video camera.

We got her a "kangaroo climber". Its like a clubhouse witha slide. She seems to really like it, but can't climb on it yet. I'm sure she will soon. She likes looking at us through the windows.

First time this year with her swimsuit on in her new water toy. She didn't know what to think and the water was rather cold.

Grandma got Kayla a new table and chairs that matches her room perfectly and Daddy set it up today. She seems to like it, but fell out of the chair when mama wasn't looking. She'll learn to climb up and down soon.

Kayla playing with her new marracas. They sing and say the ABC's when she shakes them.
