Food and Fun

She's so silly!!!
Chocolate smile!! CHEESE!!

Kayla helped me make brownies on Saturday too. She loved licking the spoon as mama showed her. I gotta teach her right. I created a monster though. It was pretty difficult explaning to her that we couldn't eat it all and that we had to bake some of the brownie mix.

This is Kayla's first meal in her new booster seat at the big table. She was beginning to not like her high chair and was really out growing it, so on her nap time this past Saturday I got her a booster seat. She eats better hear, but eating is becoming a challenge nowdays. The doctor told me not to force the food and that they are "binge" eaters at this age. This means that she will eat one day and then eat nothing the next day. Its just normal. Thing is that she grazes a lot on snacks and I don't want her to just eat snacks and not her meals. I sound like my mom. A lot of time outs lately are the result of crying and whining b/c she can't have a snack or the food that she wants. Its frustrating on both sides. I can pretty much just threaten "time out" and she'll settle down now. Meanwhile we're learning lessons on eating at 2. Please give advise if you can offer.

"Do I have something on my face?"

Love the cupcake. She did a pretty good number on this one much like her own birthday cake last year. I can't believe all these babies are turning 2.

Cute pizza eating with the birthday hat.

She warmed up pretty quick though and had a blast!! It was fun to see her play.

Kayla went to a birthday party recently and had a lot of fun after getting aquanted. This is her being a little skiddish at first and not knowing what to think of all the people and play things at Gymboree.

Loving some butter!!

So, we went out to eat at the Dixie Cafe a couple of weeks back. Its a cute country cooking restaurant. Of course they bring out bread and butter, well Kayla discovered the butter. She instisted on reaching in with her finger and licking the butter. We couldn't bear to watch, but did take pictures of the gross event. It was quite humerous, but unbearable to watch her lick butter. I try to feed her healthy foods and she chooses a lump of butter.

MeMaw visits

Loved to spend time with my mom!!
Love this face. I'm gonna try to crop this and enlarge just her in it. This is a classic face.

Having a sucker after playing games at the Fast Lanes arcade with DaDa. They had a lot of fun.

We went shopping this day too. Chad was a trooper through all the many shoe stores my mom and I went in and entertained Kayla. She loves riding in the trucks in the mall. She calls them "beep beeps". Its difficult to tear her away though.

Kayla loves seeing MeMaw and has fun playing with her in the car. We started calling her MeMaw b/c thats what Tristin calls her, but Kayla calls her MamMaw. Oh, well they will figure it out later. I just think its cute when they play together b/c its not often enough.

Kayla's mittens are pretty big. She couldn't hardly hold the snow.

My mom came to visit at the end of February and it snowed that Saturday. I was so excited to have a last snow of the season that Kayla could play in. We threw snowballs and played for a little while. It was really cold though and didn't stay out for long.

Febuary cute pics

Kayla loves to sit on the bathroom counter when I'm getting ready and pretend to put on make-up. She's growing up too fast. I pretend I'm putting blush or powder on her. Its crazy that she knows what to do with every make-up item b/c she watches me. I'm amazed everyday with what she can do. She's so inquisitive and curious about life. I try to let her explore unil she messes up too much. :)

Our friend Anita!! She was so great that weekend. She's getting married this weekend in N.O. I can't wait. We thew her a surprise lingerie shower.

My sister got to drive over for a couple of hours and go shopping with us. We drug Anita through a lot of baby stores. Sorry Anita, when you have a baby there is no more shopping for yourself.

We went to Shreveport the next weekend to visit our friends who are getting married in March and Chad went to the BassMasters Classic in Shreveport. It was a fun, quick weekend. Anita and I went to the Louisiana Boardwalk mall for some lunch and shopping. Kayla loves looking at the fountains "water" and she's posing for the camera here and trying out for a Gap modeling job. I think she's totally a Gap baby!!

Valentine's Day cont.

Kayla likes to do flips and then stant up and say "TADA!". Just like the gymnast. We might just be taking a trip to the Olympics!!

"I look just like Nan."

Loves her Beaar and Elmo!!

Kayla liked giving Valentines to Nan and PaPaw. They loved receiving them too. We all had pancakes that morning and enjoyed some shopping in the afternoon after Chad and PaPaw cleaned up the fallen limbs from the ice storm that morning. We always have a great but short weekend with them.

She got a Elmo doll that she hugs and it says "I love you". That Elmo loves everyone. He's going to get himself in trouble for that one day. Of course Kayla loves everything Elmo.

The next morning, Chad's parents were at our home and we surely enjoyed them. Kayla was showered with Valentine's gifts. Grandma gave her a white bear. Kayla loves saying "beaar" like an English person.

Chad and I had a great evening the night before Valentine's day at a couples banquet and a local church. We had a great dinner, chocolate fountain, and a concert. It was just nice to get out together. It was a chilly night so we couldn't spend a lot of time together just walking around. I was just glad that I could fit into a bridesmaids dress from pre-pregancy. It's always fun to dress up.

Notice the side ponytail, and not the crying.

Kayla's daycare had dress-up days everyday the week of Valentine's day. Thursday was 80's day and I had fun with it. Kayla didn't like it very much, but her teachers and I sure liked it. Ahh the 80's. Kayla's generation won't know what they are missing.

Valentine's Day

Kayla love to sit on the kitchen and bathroom counters nowdays. We let her do it once and now we've created a monster. We have to stay right with her b/c of course we don't won't her to fall off and she loves to search into all of our things put away on the counters. She loves to explore. Nowdays, she wants to get into the bread box and has to make toast everytime. I'm teaching her to make eggs over-medium well next.

I was really trying hard to keep the paintbrush away from Kayla's clothes and hair. She then proceeded to paint her hand. I was trying to keep the paintbrush away from Kayla's hair when suddenly I got red paint in my hair. I was trying to hide it from Chad b/c I didn't want to tell him what we were doing.

A regular ar-teest.

She is really proud of her work!! TADA!!

Kayla and I decided to make Dada and Nan & PaPaw Valentines this year. I made cute Valentines for them out of my scrapbooking materials, but Kayla wanted to make her own for DaDa.
