4th of July with family

We went to a friend's house for a 4th party that afternoon. It was fun to have all the babies there. We went to the same place last year and Kayla was just 3 weeks old and all the other ladies were still pregnant with there babies. Quite different this year.
We played washers, ladder ball and water balloon tosses.

Kayla, Ethan and Benjamin all dressed up for the 4th.
Kayla was just bored with the whole thing. :)
Pretty good pic of Chad and I on the 4th.
It was so good to have the pack and play set up for the babies to play in while the adults got to chat. It didn't last for long though, but it was nice while it happened.

We all went to the anual "Rodeo of the Ozarks" July 3rd. Its sort of a family tradition now, except for last year when Kayla was just 3 weeks old. I think she sort of enjoyed it this year. Maybe she can't appreciate it yet. We sure had fun dressing her up in her cowgirl outfit though. I wish I could find some baby boots, but I couldn't. We all had fun watching the rodeo and passing her around.

It started raining and got a little chilly, so Kayla got to wear Nan's jacket and it also served as a good blanket when she fell asleep around 9:30 and we were still at the rodeo. We were under a covered stadium seating, so we didn't get wet. It was a long night and she stuck it out, but we paid for it the rest of the weekend b/c her schedule was off for the next 3 days. She was crying at night and a bit fussy, but all the fun was worth it.

These pics are soooo cute of her and PaPaw. She was really sleepy.

With Mama and Dada at the Rodeo.

Chad's parents finally got to bring up the wagon when they came to visit on the 4th. We immediatley brought it out to pull Kayla around the cul-de-sac. She loves being paraded around. She loved to have her shades on and wave to people passing by.

Kayla has so much fun playing with her Nan and Papaw. Papaw loves to just have Kayla roll around on the floor and play on his belly. Nan got Kayla some really good books and being the teacher that she is, she loves to read to her. Kayla is very interested in all books nowdays. We've started incorporating it into her nightly routine and it really calms her. She has her favorite books already. We replaced all of our books on the bottom shelf of the coffee table with her books and she loves to pull them out and look at them. It usually keeps her quite for a little while.
