Mudtown Days

So, Lowell has a festival every year called Mudtown Days which is usually pretty decent and fun with rides and some carnival stuff then events and an awesome firework show. Well, this year we were excited about bringing Kayla and having the Saturday to be together as family. It didn't turn out exactly as planned. The ground was really muddy from the rain that we had all morning and 1/2 of the afternoon. We ended up going to the Fayetteville mall to get out of the rain and decided to go to the festival after Kayla ate that evening.
It was soooo muddy at the new park that didn't have paved walkways to get out to all the festivities. We were almost mud digging her stroller through the grass. Chad ended up doing a couple of games and the guy gave Kayla a toy even though we didn't win. It was a nice gesture for the disappointing day. We still got to be together as a family though.

Here we are waiting for the fireworks with some friends. It was after Kayla's bedtime, but we decided to keep her up so she could see them with us. Well, we waited 45 minutes for fireworks that never came. It was pretty disappointing. I think they cancelled them b/c of the rain earlier that day. I don't know. Anyway, it was definately a memorable day at the truely muddy Mudtown days.
