Chris and Anita's Wedding- March 21st

Here are my favorite pictures of a recent wedding of Chad's best friend and his fiance' Anita. Sorry its taken me so long to post these, but I've been busy lately and am just now settling down. It was the first time we've been without Kayla for more than 1 day. She stayed with Chad's Aunt Cathy and cousins in West Monroe as Chad, me and his parents went to New Orleans for the weekend and had a really good time. Thank you Chris and Anita for everything (the nice food and hospitality) I will never forget it!!
Start at the bottom for the whole weekend in order.

The got away in a 1950's model Rolls Royce. Only Chris would "big time it" this much. It was a really nice wedding and I felt like a princess the whole weekend get away.

Chad's dad had to dance with me to a CCR song. He was having a blast too!!

We had a great time dancing!! It was a very interesting music variety that night. We had Arabic music b/c of the brides heritage, country music b/c the groom is country, and jazz music b/c we were in New Orleans. A very interesting mix, but it worked and we had a blast learning new dance moves. I gotta say that was the first dancing wedding I ever went to that they didn't do the Electric Slide. Quite alright though.

Gourgeous cake!!

All of the food was really fancy and delicious! We had all the wine and champangne we wanted, but I didn't have much.

Chris is really happy to be married!!

We had name tags and they said what table we were to sit at. I felt really special that I got to sit at the head table with the bride and groom b/c Chad was the best man.

We had fun listening to the jazz band and Anita and her dad were dancing to it

Don't look under the table!!

So, after the wedding we had about 2 1/2 hours to kill before the cocktail hour started at the Audobon Tea Room right outside the Audobon Zoo. The wedding pary took pictures and road around in a limo all over New Orleans while I just road around St. Charles and Magazine St. and got some ice-cream with Chad's parents. It was really crowded trying to get into the parking lot b/c it was a festival day for the zoo and it was closing time. Needless to say, we had a great time at the cocktail hour and it was beautiful weather to stand out in the courtyard and listen to a jazz band.

At the last minute I was asked to help present the "gifts" to the priest for the Mass. Not being Catholic that had to be explained to me, but of course I gladly assisted. So, me and another girl brought the wine cup and bread to the priest for it to be blessed. I really didn't know what to do when I got there. I sort of nodded my head, curtsied and walked back to my seat. It turned out fine, but the priest almost fell as he tripped on the bride's veil when he was walking down to meet us. It was pretty scarry for a second. He gave an exasperated face before he received our gifts. It was funny, but I couldn't laugh in the middle of the Catholic Mass wedding.

The beautiful bride!!

The church was gorgeous!! It was on St. Charles St. and apparently they have weddings here all through the day on Saturday. They just pile them up one hour after another and the wedding party just comes in and does their thing and leaves. No hanging around. I thought that was pretty unusual. It was a beautiful ceremony though.

This was a cool street performer we saw by the river. Chad felt guilty that we took his picture and had to give him some money. I just thought he looked cool.

We got to browse the French Quarter a little that morning with Chad's parents. I love it.

Me in front of Harrah's

It was a really huge breakfast and I'm glad of it b/c I didn't have much of a lunch with getting ready for the wedding and it being at 2:00.

After a long night at the Harrah's casino which was right across from our hotel (above), we went to Mother's for breakfast the morning of the wedding. Our hotel was really posh and modern and cool like that, but they gave a lot of the people in the wedding grief about not getting their room when they got there and being late with our car. Other than that it was pretty cool, b/c it was close to the casino and French Quarter.

Shara and the bride-to-be

He gave all the groomsmen cowboy hats as their gift. He wanted to keep it a secret, but had to get their hat sizes so he told all of them that he was getting them top hats. Chad's was a special order b/c it was the biggest size. Poor Chad... you look cute anyway!!

Chad's parents were invited to the rehearsal dinner too. This is a great picuture of them. They were like parents to Chris when they were growing up.

Some of the grooms men and Chris at the rehearsal dinner. It was at Dickey Brennan's and we were in a room on the side. The food was amazing and we had a lot of fun dressing up. It was difficult navigating around New Orleans and this place was right off of Burbon St. Our hotel took 30 minutes to bring our car from valet parking so we had to ride with the grooms sister to get to the rehearsal and arrived late.
